Northern Nipmuck 16 mile trail race

I did the Northern Nipmuck 16 mile trail race on Saturday.
I was a little disappointed since I was the only Crank Racer
there. Where was everyone? The race temps where perfect, except
on the way back when the sun went in and the wind picked up.
trail conditions were pretty good. The race started with about
a 0.5 mile climb through the wettest part of the course. NOthing
like wet feet at the beginning of the race. The course was
not as hilly as I thought it would be. There were some hand
over hand climbing up some of the steep sections. Aid stations
where well stocked. There was a nice steep decent to the turn
around, then back up again. Overall is was a nice course,
with a good mixture of terrain. This was more like a long
run for me since i was coming off the flu and hadn't run in
over a week. Finshed 63rd out of 112. Not bad for just doing
it and not racing. Looking forward to Merrimack on Saturday.
