Mike and Dave running into the first
transition.

Results
are up from the August 13th Lynn Woods duathlon.
It was a little hoomid that night, and I'm
still more than a little out of shape (I had forgotten how
much pain my calves could put me in).
Here's how it went down:
The run started when the guy said "go."
We went.
I went into the bike leg in 13th, but passed
two riders on the mtb split.
In the middle of the mtb section there was
a rock but I went around it.
Towards the end of the bike leg, my calves
were cramping and I knew I was going to be in trouble.
Going out on the second run my calves started
cramping so bad that I was hobbling and as they were contracting
it looked like I was "skipping."
Fortunately I was able to walk it off and
then eventually run it off.
I had some guy right on my back on half of
the last run, but somehow I held him off (Jean's cheering
did it for me).
It was A LOT of work (67 minutes at avg HR
of 173) for an 11th place finish, but it was fun to be back
and it can only get better.
Matt--it was great to see you out there,
and it was good to be back with my other muskateers, Mike
and Doug.

| No, it wasn't foggy,
just humid enough to fog up the camera... Dave (L), Matt,
and Mike (R). |
 |
| The sad thing is that there were about
13 other bikes there--they were already gone by the time
we got there... d'oh! |
 |
|
Oh yeah--that's how fast I run!
